Thinking about taking the plunge and becoming a certified scuba diver? Our five-day PADI Open Water course is the most popular way to combine the adventure of learning to dive with the excitement of exploring the spectacular beauty of The Great Barrier Reef. With warm water, minimal current and great visibility year round, The Great Barrier Reef is the best place on Earth to learn how to dive.
The five-day course consists of two parts:
- Two-days in pool and classroom training in Cairns.
- Three-days and two-nights on an Outer Great Barrier Reef liveaboard trip.
Courses commence every day except Sunday
English Courses Commence Every day except Sunday at 8.30 am.
3 day/2-night liveaboard departs: Every day except Tue at 7.00 am
3 day/2-night liveaboard returns: At 4.00 pm
Note: Accommodation transfers are included (Cairns city to Northern Beaches as far as Palm Cove)
Reef levies and dive medical if needed.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. All students must read the 'Entry Level Student Diver Medical Declaration Form'. You will be required to obtain a dive medical certificate if you answer “yes” to any of the questions on the medical declaration - The dive medical must be completed PRIOR to starting the course and must be valid within 90 days of commencing the course.
