Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is one of Australia’s most recognisable landmarks, located on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour. Known for its distinctive sail-like design, it was created by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, with construction beginning in 1959 and completion in 1973. The building is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a major symbol of modern Australian architecture. Today, it functions as a multi-venue performing arts centre, hosting opera, ballet, theatre and a wide range of music events. Its design, history and cultural significance make it a key part of Australia’s artistic and architectural identity.
