Adelaide is considered one of the least costly capital cities of Australia and there are many restaurants that offer great daily offers. We also recommend purchasing a metroCARD allowing you to use the public bus, train and tram systems at a cheaper rate than buying single fare tickets.
We recommend a minimum of three days in Adelaide. This will allow enough time to enjoy the vineyards, city centre, beaches and surrounding parklands.
Adelaide’s Summer is hot and clear, boasting the lowest humidity and rainfall amounts of any Australian capital city whilst its Spring and Autumn remain reasonably dry with temperatures staying between 12-22oC. Adelaide in Winter brings frost on the hills but the city temperature does not drop below 8oC.
February and March play host to Adelaide’s favourite festivals such as the Fringe Festival and WOMADelaide, you also get to experience some of the city’s glorious summer weather as it starts to cool.
Definitely! Adelaide is an easy city to explore, with plenty of hostels, affordable food options, free attractions and public transport. It’s also a great starting point for backpacking adventures through South Australia and beyond.
Yes! Adelaide’s city centre is relatively compact and easy to explore on foot, while public transport connects many of the surrounding suburbs and beaches. However, hiring a car can be handy if you want to explore the Adelaide Hills, wine regions or other destinations outside the city.
