Hit the road early, heading north on the first leg of your epic coast-to-coast journey. After crossing the sweeping plains of the Clare Valley, pull into Wallaroo on the Yorke Peninsula. The perfect spot to stretch your legs, breathe in the salt air, and feel your adventure begin. Back on the road, we cruise along the coastline to Port Germein, a sleepy seaside town steeped in history. Take a walk along the 1,532-metre-long jetty, once the longest in the Southern Hemisphere, and grab a bite to eat. By late afternoon, we reach Mount Remarkable National Park in the Southern Flinders Ranges. After setting up camp at Mambray Creek, lace up your boots for a bushwalk beneath ancient red gums and rugged sandstone ridges, home to abundant wildlife. Share stories over dinner with your new travel crew. Then roll out your swag and settle in under a canopy of stars. Dinner
Wake to the sounds of the bush. Kookaburras calling, leaves rustling, and the scent of morning campfire. After breakfast, hit the Davey's Gully Hike, a gentle 2.4 km loop trail through native bushland with panoramic views over Spencer Gulf and Alligator Basin. From here, we roll into the creative heart of the outback, Kimba. Snap a photo at the iconic silo mural, then explore Workshop26, a former tractor shed transformed into a buzzing arts collective. Meet the locals, hear their inspiring story, and maybe pick up a handcrafted souvenir. Lunch today is packed with purpose, quite literally. Prepared by the Kimba Hospital Auxiliary and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) volunteer crew, this meal supports vital healthcare services in remote SA. In the afternoon, the landscape shifts as we reach the wild coastline of the Eyre Peninsula. At The Tub, towering sand dunes become our playground. Grab a board and go sand-surfing, or simply enjoy the thrill from below. A quick stop at Woolshed Cave reveals one of nature's masterpieces: wave-carved rock walls glowing with layers of ancient Earth. By sunset, we arrive at Coodlie Park Farm Retreat, an off-grid eco-camp built with love by Untamed Escapes' founders. Settle in for a shared meal, then let the night sky steal the show. Join an optional stargazing tour, where zero light pollution reveals constellations, galaxies, and the raw wonder of a true outback sky. Rise early for one of the most incredible experiences of the tour, an optional wildlife encounter at Baird Bay that's equal parts heart-pounding and humbling. Operated by Eco-Accredited Baird Bay Ocean Eco Tours, this experience takes you into sheltered waters for a truly wild swim with Australian sea lions and bottlenose dolphins. First, cruise out to Jones Island, where a colony of playful sea lions basks in the sun. Slip into the water and watch them twist, spin, and swirl around you. Head into deeper water for a chance to swim with wild dolphins as they glide and dart through the bay. No feeding, no gimmicks, just you, the sea, and these intelligent, graceful creatures in their natural habitat. It's wild Australia at its best. Those staying on land will take a coastal drive to Point Labatt, where you can reliably spot endangered Australian sea lions. Your next dose of adrenaline is a learn-to-surf session with Streaky Bay Surf School. There's no better classroom than a remote, crowd-free beach. Not feeling it? No worries — relax, swim, or wander the shoreline at your own pace. As the sun begins to dip, we roll into Penong, a quirky outback town known for its forest of windmills—a fitting end to a day powered by wind, water, and wild encounters. Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Penong Caravan Park Distance Travelled: Approx. 400 km

Today, we begin the epic pilgrimage across the Nullarbor Plain. Keep your cameras at the ready for iconic photo opportunities at the famous camels, kangaroos and wombats crossing road sign before we make our way to the edge of Australia, where the outback drops dramatically into the Southern Ocean. Stretching approximately 200 kilometres along the Great Australian Bight, Bunda Cliffs are the world's longest continuous line of sea cliffs. Breathe deep and take it all in. Stop at the iconic Nullarbor Roadhouse, marvel at the ruins of an old telegraph station and, come late afternoon, cross the border into Western Australia. Tonight's entertainment is courtesy of the celestial sphere bush camping under the southern skies on the Nullarbor. Today we'll travel around 800km with plenty of stops along the way. En route, we swing by the quirky outback town of Balladonia, which found fame in 1979 when parts of NASA's Skylab space station came crashing down nearby. As the red earth rolls by, your guide will keep you entertained with fascinating tales of the region's history, characters, and curiosities. We'll stop in Norseman for a leg stretch and lunch break before the scenery starts its dramatic transformation. By afternoon, desert tones melt into a canvas of white sand and impossibly blue water as we enter the Esperance region. Cape Le Grand National Park is an absolute showstopper. Think perfect beaches, rugged granite peaks, and kangaroos lounging on the sand. It's a slice of paradise, and we're lucky enough to call it home for the next two nights. Start your day with purpose by getting hands-on with a meaningful conservation volunteering experience at one of Australia's largest bird of prey sanctuaries. At the renowned Capes Raptor Centre, dedicated to the rescue, care, and rehabilitation of injured, orphaned, and displaced raptors, you'll have the unique opportunity to connect with majestic birds of prey— including eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls. Roll up your sleeves and join the passionate team behind the scenes, contributing to vital volunteer work that supports the wellbeing of these incredible creatures and their natural habitat. Then we shift gears and roll into one of WA's most legendary regions, Margaret River. Wander through Margaret River township, with time to explore its quirky boutiques, art galleries, and grab a bite from a local café. In the afternoon, we mix things up with stops at a couple of handpicked local producers— think wine, gin, chocolate, and cheese. By evening, we arrive at our base for the night, Fair Harvest, a working permaculture farm that's all about community, sustainability, and living in rhythm with the land. Walk through the veggie gardens, see compost systems in action and meet the farm animals. It's everything Untamed Escapes stands for. Earth-conscious, real, and regenerative. Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Fair Harvest Permaculture Farm Distance travelled: Around 240 km

Day 10:

Margaret River to Perth

Roll up your swag one last time and get ready for one of the most powerful experiences of the trip: a 2.5-hour cultural journey with Wadandi custodian Josh "Koomal" Whiteland. Begin with a bushwalk through Country, where Josh shares stories of culture, connection, and the six Noongar seasons. Learn how to identify bush foods, native medicines, and how the land provides. Witness the ancient skill of fire lighting, before heading underground into the mesmerising Ngilgi Cave. As you descend, the echoes of Josh's didgeridoo fill the space, creating a soundscape that's moving, memorable, and deeply grounding. Our next stop is Busselton's Origin Markets, where you'll find a colourful mix of WA-made goods, from food and drink to art and handmade keepsakes. Grab a bite, stock up on locally made treats, or soak up the buzz. Then take a walk down the iconic Busselton Jetty, stretching 1.8km into the turquoise waters of Geographe Bay. We will rely on the authority of the person making the booking to act on behalf of any other traveller on the booking and that person will bind all such travellers to these terms and conditions.

The ticket(s) (“voucher(s)”) for your travel or experience are booked by us on your behalf with various Service Providers. Each Service Provider may have their own terms and conditions applying to your travel. It is important that you read the relevant and corresponding brochure for each of your bookings in order to understand all applicable terms and conditions. If you require additional information to that contained in the brochure then we recommend that you contact the Service Provider for further clarification.

BOOKING CONFIRMATIONS

Your responsibilities: Open tickets: You must book your travel dates in advance with the individual Service Provider as per the details provided on your voucher.

Tickets with booked dates: It is your responsibility to ensure you redeem your vouchers on the dates booked. If you wish to change these dates you must organise it with the Service Provider directly, with adequate notice. You must reconfirm all booked dates 48 hours prior to travel (minimum guide only) or in the manner stated on your voucher. If applicable, dietary requirements should also be confirmed at this time.

CANCELLATIONS and REFUNDS

Credit card fees, and additional fees paid to us for deposits of accommodation, transport and luggage storage are not transferable or refundable.
Please note that deposits on bookings are also non-refundable but may be used as credit towards future bookings.

Cancellations by service providers

If a service provider cancels your booking for any reason you WILL NOT be charged any cancellation fee and will be entitled to a full refund (other than any amount we are charged on your behalf by the service provider). ALL TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION is NON-REFUNDABLE, in some cases it may be transferable.

Cancellations by you outside of 14 days from the date of travel

Where you provide us with at least 14 days’ notice that you wish to cancel your booking for any reason, you will be charged a 10% cancellation fee and will be entitled to a refund (in addition to any amount we are charged on your behalf by the service provider) or can transfer, with no fee, any balance (in addition to any amount we are charged as a cancellation fee on your behalf by the service provider) to a new booking or credit voucher. ALL TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION is NON-REFUNDABLE, in some cases it may be transferable.

Cancellations by you within 14 days of the date of travel

Where you provide us with less than 14 days notice that you wish to cancel your booking for any reason, you will be charged a 30% cancellation fee and will be entitled to a refund ( in addition to any amount we are charged on your behalf by the service provider) or can transfer, with a $30 per product transfer fee, any balance (in addition to any amount we are charged as a cancellation fee on your behalf by the service provider) to a new booking or credit voucher. ALL TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION is NON REFUNDABLE, in some cases they may be transferable.

In addition, if a Service Provider charges us for the cancelled travel you must also pay us the amount that we are charged on your behalf by the Service Provider. It is, therefore, possible your cancellation fees could be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced (for example cancellations made within 24hrs of travel or certain flight bookings). The Cancellation Fee will apply in all cases where a tour is able to run. For example, if you are unable to reach a tour due to an “act of God” (for example a road is cut off due to flooding) the normal Cancellation Fee will apply if the tour still runs in your absence or would have run but for your absence. If a tour or other travel service is cancelled by the Service Provider, we will refund you in full the amount paid for the tour or other travel service. This full refund is subject to a fully refundable amount being given to our agency from the supplier who is cancelling. We highlight here that all suppliers have different cancellation terms.

All refunds will occur in the local currency and will be refunded to the same card that payment was made with. If your credit card uses a different currency, the amount refunded may be different from the original amount paid due to exchange rate fluctuations. We are not liable for these fluctuations, or any fees your bank charges.

Please note that in the case of natural disasters (e.g. flood, fire, cyclone, etc.), many Service Providers do not offer refunds, and we may therefore be unable to provide a refund to you. We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover this situation.

The 10% or 30% agency cancellation fee does not apply to: Dive Courses where you fail a Dive Medical test; or Skydives cancelled by the Service Provider within 3 days of booking due to weather, in which case a full refund will apply.

Where a refund or other payment applies, you may choose to transfer the full cost of your booking to another tour. However, a transfer fee of $30 may apply. While we aim to process refunds swiftly, high-demand situations (such as natural disasters) may result in delays.

We strongly recommend purchasing a travel insurance policy at the time of booking to protect yourself against unexpected cancellations and changes. Depending on your policy, your insurance provider may cover up to 100% of cancellation fees and other costs incurred. Cancellation fees for tours and bus bookings can be up to 100%, so having appropriate coverage can help minimise financial risk.

Please act responsibly and with respect on your travels. All Service Providers reserve the right to cancel bookings based on recommendation from another provider due to misconduct/misbehaviour during another stage of their trip. We will treat this as any normal cancellation and charge the above-mentioned Cancellation Fee, plus any Service Provider fees.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance. It is your personal responsibility to purchase your own travel insurance to cover any liability which may be incurred to us or a Service Provider and other travel misadventures that you wish to be insured against. We recommend that you source travel insurance with a low excess payment, to make claiming on cancelled tours worthwhile.
