Sea lions at Seal Bay
Seal Bay on Kangaroo Island is home to the world’s third-largest colony of Australian sea lions, an endangered species found only in Australia. The area provides a rare chance to observe these animals in their natural coastal environment through a scenic boardwalk and optional guided tours. Seal Bay protects an estimated 800 individuals, representing about five percent of the global population, according to the National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia.

Barossa Valley & Wineries
The Barossa Valley, located near Adelaide, is one of Australia’s most famous and historic wine regions. It is known for its full-bodied Shiraz as well as standout Cabernet and Grenache varieties. The area is home to more than 150 wineries, many of them family-owned and featuring some of the oldest vines in the country. Visitors can explore a wide range of cellar doors, enjoy regional produce and take in the valley’s distinctive landscapes. Its close proximity to Adelaide makes the Barossa suitable for both day trips and longer stays.

Adelaide is considered one of the least costly capital cities of Australia and there are many restaurants that offer great daily offers. We also recommend purchasing a metroCARD allowing you to use the public bus, train and tram systems at a cheaper rate than buying single fare tickets.

To allow enough time to enjoy the vineyards, city centre, beaches and surrounding parklands we recommend a minimum of three days in Adelaide.

Adelaide’s Summer is hot and clear, boasting the lowest humidity and rainfall amounts of any Australian capital city whilst its Spring and Autumn remain reasonably dry with temperatures staying between 12-22oC. Adelaide in Winter brings frost on the hills but the city temperature does not drop below 8oC.

February and March play host to Adelaide’s favourite festivals such as the Fringe Festival and WOMADelaide, you also get to experience some of the city’s glorious summer weather as it starts to cool.
